We took a bit of a holiday break here at Echolocale, but we're back in time for the leap year with some of the most exciting work we've ever done. In anticipation, we'd love to share some music. Listen and read about it all below, then get your umbrella ready:
Some Ember is the new project of Man/Miracle front man Dylan Travis. It's a dark, droney, aural spelunking adventure that we're almost afraid to go on. But who knows what you'll find in there.
Elephant & Castle is the solo project of town producer Dave Reep, who we expected to lose to L.A., but did not, thank God. For now, he's staying put in Oakland and putting out his debut, Transitions, on Plug Research March 17. He just mailed us a copy and it's drop-dead gorgeous.
If you're a rap fan that doesn't know Main Attrakionz yet, get on the damn boat because the one you're on is sinking. As Oakland's greatest hope for experimental rap, the Green Ova family has put out a wealth of new material recently, notably killer solo outings from MondreMAN, Squadda B, and Shady Blaze. Recently The Fader premeired one of the weirdest and coolest tracks they've put out to date, a collabo with brit producer Jam City.
